I wasn’t ready

You took it when I was young

I’ll never forget the levels of pain

I can never forget the look in your eyes

This is why I was deemed like a Scottish soldier

I have fought, long and hard

I have taken the bullet

Just in return for someone’s life

Because of you I walk like this

Because of you my foot hurts like this

You can tease, you can mock

It don’t bother me

I fight for the sake of friends

I fight for the sake of family

That’s why I’m deemed like a Scottish soldier

I fight for you like I fight for a clan

I can’t hold my own mental health together

But I’m already taking others pains

I help them through their problems

And never really get to my own

That is why I’m deemed a Scottish soldier

I am loyal, and I care

Everybody else comes before me

I’ve never actually had time for myself

I have fought long and hard

I can still walk

I can still run

So I need to keep on fighting

Like a good Scottish soldier
